today I am grateful

It is my birthday today! We woke up to a crazy snow storm, which is NOT suppose to happen on April 17th EVER. But, some blue sky is peeking through the clouds, which is making me happy. Don is out at the store buying me some ice cream, little girl is sound asleep on my lap. Life is quiet and peaceful.

Today I am grateful for:

- My amazing husband who is funny and entertaining and loving and sexy and kind.

- My son who is smart and clever and such goof, he makes me laugh every day.

- My daughter who loves giving hugs and just discovered the joy of dancing.

- The whole rest of my family who love me no matter what.

- Getting to have this time, right now, where we are all home together.

- Living in a cozy house that is quirky and fun and so totally "us."

- Nice neighbors who surprise me with fun gifts that make me smile from ear to ear.

- Friends who are really starting to feel like friends and not just acquaintances.

- Ice cream, which was just been placed in my hand.. mmmmm!

I am glad to get to share with all of you out there our life. Thanks for reading this blog and letting me show off the things that make me happy. Have a great weekend!

a new start

We have a lot going on around our household...lots of new projects, new possibilities, new dreams. I truly feel that this year is a new beginning for us. For awhile now, we have just been surviving, working on things just to pay the bills, wishing for more, you know how that goes....

Well, we are at the start of a new way to live and "be"...

Don is making stuff and is really happy and he is REALLY GOOD! I am plotting and planning on how to grow his little enterprise and support his wishes and hopes. Soon I'll be sharing about all that, but today is about sharing what I've been up to.

For a few months now, I've been staying up late, being a busy bee here at my computer, starting my own little business...

What matters most to me is getting to stay home with my kiddos. We plan on homeschooling and really want to travel and give our children an adventurous life. I've been hunting around for awhile for a way for me and Don to both be able to stay home, but we still need to pay the bills, ya know?

Sometime last year I said to myself, wouldn't it be great to just be able to dink around on the computer doing what I like to do and make money doing it? Well, I have found a way...

It is going to take some work and some time and patience, but I have found the perfect thing for me to do...write and create websites on topics that I love!!! And the opportunity of making a much better income than what we are used to is a reality. AND, this will allow us to live wherever we want to, travel, Don can go crazy with his woodworking, etc...

So, finally, I have written enough info on my first website to be able to share it with you.

This is one of my most favorite topics that I can go on and on about!! I so love all things about cloth diapers (well except washing them!) and I love helping people get started using cloth. I love writing and babbling on about stuff and I can spend hours goofing around on the computer doing layouts, choosing fonts, etc.

See....it's perfect for me! I feel really blessed to have found something for me to do and be passionate about AND that will eventually be able to support our creative little family.

I have so many plans for what I want to do with this site, including tutorials for sewing your own diapers, reviews, sales announcements, etc.

So, go have a look and let me know what you think!!

things making me happy

1. Finally! Blogger let me download all my pictures... yay!

2. It is FREEZING (literally. it was 1 degree today), which doesn't totally make me happy, but I am happy that we are all snuggled in, warm and safe.

3. A visit from this old man...
Who was so obviously old, slow moving and graceful. He was beautiful.

4. Making snowflakes...

5. My son ate brussel sprouts, which if you know this kid these days, is truly a miracle!
6. A visit from Grandma...
(who cooperated so nicely with all the bops in the nose.)

7. Picnic dinners under the Christmas tree...

Hope you are all staying warm!!!

giving thanks

I have been feeling a litle grumpy and annoyed at things with all of us sick this week. The best cure for grouchiness? Taking a moment and being grateful for the good things happening in my life these days.

So, 11 things making me happy right now:

1. This sweet little peanut sticking her toungue out at me.

2. Live concerts in my bedroom.

3. Living in a place that I get to see (on a regular basis) big scary animals walking down the road like it's nothing.

4. This man.

5. My son kinda sorta starting to take naps again. This time all on his own with zero prompting form me, right in the middle of the dining room.

6. Knitting. Especially with pretty yarn. I can totally get why so many people are obsessed with yarn.

7. Watching my little man make art and seeing how happy it makes him.

8. This picture, just because I like it.

9. This awesome group of mamas, who crack me up, encourage, inspire and motivate me.

10. The farmers market, which starts today-fianlly!

11. And, starting to feel better.
